As many of you know, emily-jane owner and head designer Jane MacLellan has moved to Bend, but she's back in town for a brief time to see old friends, family and loyal customers. a letter from jane:
Dear customers,
It seems our communications to you haven't been crystal clear. I decided a more personal explanation is needed as to the future of emily-jane.
After 10 years of creating jewels and working with such wonderful customers, it is time for me to step back and take a look at the next 10 years.

| The Broadway location is simply unnecessarily large for me. My original plans for this space included carrying clothing in addition to creating our jewelry inventory. However, with the economy changing and the difficulty of being a "clothing buyer" for the store I decided that it wasn't the best use of my time and resources to carry clothing. The street has also changed, with our favorite neighbors such as Irvington Market, Matisse, Vergotis, Halo, Mimi and Lena, Mimi and Madre, the Goodnight Room, and the Paper Garden, among others, leaving or going out of business. It simply doesn't make sense for us to continue leasing this particular space. |

My husband was in a bad accident this August. He is still recovering, as many of you know who saw him at the holiday party (a great success, by the way, and thank you all who attended!). He has asked me to take at least a month off after we close this location before I commit to anything definite. That month will be spent with him and with my horses. I've been blessed with a passion for creating jewelry and also for horses. Coming to the horse world as an adult I have found them to be the most therapeutic and healing part of my life. I cannot express the joy and peace they bring to my soul; perhaps these photos will help. Therefore, I believe I may open another, much smaller retail location with limited hours. However, I don't want to make a commitment until I experience a month with horses and husband. I think that will bring immense clarity to my mind.
Many people seem to think we are closing now. That is not the case. We will be open and re-stocking the store with jewels everyday through January 10th. Officially, January 10th is the last day the store will be open.
**Additionally, many of you missed our December 1st online deadline and have sent me frantic emails asking if ordering is still possible. Many pieces are still available to order and receive by December 23rd. We did however have to mark many pieces out of stock in order to make this possible. At this time, you may order anything that is not marked out of stock on the website by December 10th to ensure delivery by December 23rd.**
**ALSO, To those of you who have already ordered, and who have not received direct communication from us, you will receive your order before Christmas, UNLESS you have specifically told us it can wait until after Christmas.**
I will keep all of you posted with any news as it becomes available.
Above all else, I'd like to thank you for your kindness and support. It has been lovely getting to know you, watching your children grow and learning about your lives.
This isn't necessarily the end but rather a new chapter that has yet to be written.

closing our doors
important holiday info:
To all our wonderful customers,
We would like to update you to our current transition. With the changing of the season and the coming forth of a new year, we have decided not to renew our lease at the NE Broadway location.
Our future is up in the air, and we are not sure if we will be opening our doors to a new location or simply continuing with our wholesale market. With that said, if you have any burning requests or were planning on ordering a specially made holiday gift.... November is the time to get your request in! We are taking ALL ORDERS (web orders, custom orders, repairs, etc) NOW so that we can make them while we still have the work space, which we hope to keep until January 15th. Once we close our doors we unfortunately will not be able to process all requests. Also, orders made on the website will be processed a little differently than we've done in the past, with half the order being charged at the time of purchase and the other half being charged once the item is shipped, just as your custom orders are normally processed.
AND, please don’t forget about our holiday party celebration! We will be hosting the party on December 1st from 6-9 at the NE Broadway location. Once again we will be featuring a special, handmade ornament and a store full of one-of-a-kind jewels. In addition, their will be complimentary spirits including a specialty cocktail and a full array of hors d'oeuvres. Please don't miss this event, as it is the LAST HOLIDAY PARTY AT OUR BEAUTIFUL BROADWAY STORE, and if you've been to one in the past, you know it is a fun time.
Although this is sad news, change can be a good thing as we are hoping to spend our break focusing on expanding our skills into metal smithing! Thank you all for your business and appreciation for our work. We look forward to creating all your jeweled desires now and in the future.

Voluspa Scent Event
Saturday 1-5PM:
You don't want to miss the fun event we're having this Saturday (June 5th), hosted by Voluspa (voluspacandles.com)! Many of you have been asking us when we will get more of your favorite Voluspa scents back in. Well, Saturday is the best time to pre-order the scents you love. Voluspa also has a variety of new fragrances, and we'd like your help deciding which ones to order for this season. Stop in anytime from 1-5PM to smell the scents! If you'd like to join us for a sit-down-and-relax (going through the whole line) session, there is one from 1:30-3PM and another from 3:30-5PM. There will be coffee beans to cleanse your scent palette, and as usual we will have sparkling wine for everyone.
