Q:
I am not comfortable purchasing online.
How else may I purchase
emily-jane jewelry?
A: We have recently shut down our Broadway storefront. At this time, there are a few boutiques which carry a small selection of our jewels, and we are also still doing custom appointments. Additionally, we will have periodic shopping events held at a different location each time, and we'll post this information on the "news" page. Please sign up on our home page to receive notificiations. And feel free to contact us if you are interested in starting a custom project!
Q:
In the event that my emily-jane jewelry needs repair,
what is your policy?
A: The first repair of an emily-jane item is on the house, with the exception of lost parts. Thereafter, the repair fee is $20 per hour plus the cost of materials. We'll do our best to keep these charges as low as possible, and many repairs are simple and take only a few minutes to complete. Some, such as re-knotting projects, can take an hour or two. Please notify us of the repair via phone or email before you insure it and ship to:
Q:
I have noticed a few of the stones on my emily-jane
jewelry
have
imperfections. Why is this?
A: We receive our vintage Swarovski® crystals in their original
packaging. However, due to the fact that many vintage crystals are over 50
years old, it is not unusual to see a slight flaw or imperfection. This
does not diminish the value or appearance of the piece.
Emily-jane
jewelry that is designed with natural materials, such as
pearls, semi-precious and precious stones, may have unusual
coloration or markings. These markings should not be considered imperfections
but rather add to the uniqueness of each piece.
Q:
How do I care for my emily-jane jewelry?
A: To keep your emily-jane jewelry in its original condition
store it flat in a protective box or bag. To clean sterling
silver jewelry use liquid silver polish and a soft cloth.
Do not clean or polish tarnished sterling silver, for
it will remove the black finish. Use a dampened chamois
to
polish crystals. Do not get silk jewelry wet. Always apply cosmetics, hair products, and perfurmes before wearing your emily-jane jewelry.
Q:
What style clasp will be on my emily-jane necklace?
A: All necklaces and bracelets are made with secure lobster
claw style clasps unless otherwise indicated.
Q:
What style closure will be on my emily-jane earrings?
A: All earrings are made with secure and comfortable leverbacks
unless otherwise indicated.
Q:
Can I order another style clasp or earring?
A: Absolutely, we find that it is easiest if you call us
so that we may discuss the options with you.
Q:
May I order my necklace longer/shorter?
A: We want your necklace to fit you perfectly. If our standard
length does not work for you please give us a call and
let us know the length that you would like.
Q:
Can I order an item in another metal?
(sterling
silver, tarnished sterling silver, 14k
or 18k gold, platinum, etc.)
A: Absolutely, this is usually not a problem. Please call
us so that we can discuss this in more detail with you.
Q:
I don't have pierced ears, do you make clip earrings?
A: Nearly all of our earrings (with the exception of our
hoop earrings) are available for unpierced ears. Please
call
us for more options.
Q:
What do you mean by "vintage Swarovski® crystals"?
A: The majority of our vintage crystals were no longer produced
after the 1940's. We obtain all of our vintage crystals
in their original packaging.
